The New Shopping Land shopping mall is opening this summer in our city. The mall will be the
biggest mall in the northwest, with an area of four thousand square metres. It is located close
to the highway, has its own bus stops and two thousand five hundred car parking spaces, so it
              is suitable for all citizens.

The mall has five areas, all open air. The largest is Main Street. It is a shopping area on two
floors. On Main Street, you can find all the popular chain stores and department stores. You can

Located on three levels, you can find traditional market
stalls in the Market Square. On the first level, there are
food stalls, including a butcher’s, bakery and greengrocer’s.
On the second floor, you can find stalls that sell hardware.
You can sit on the top floor and enjoy the open area’s
              lovely city view.
Then there is Bohemia. You can find independent shops
that sell second-hand music, books, clothes and handicrafts.
The Palisade is more upmarket. You can find fashion
boutiques, jewellers, antiques and furniture there. There are
also four banks and a big post office.
The Showground is the entertainment centre of the mall.
On the ground floor, there is a food court. There you
can find cuisine from around the world. You can try and
enjoy Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Italian food. There is
also a large arena. In this arena, events will take place
throughout the year. There is also a six-screen cinema and

                                                     Jessica’s Daily Routine

My name’s Jessica, and I am twenty-five years old. I live in New York, but I’m from New Jersey. I
live with my older sister, and we are happy to live in New York. I work in a hospital, and I love
              my job.
From Monday to Friday, I start the day very early. I always get up at six o’clock, and I have a
quick shower. Then, I get dressed. At 6:30, I have breakfast. I usually have cereal, a banana and
some milk. After that, I leave home and go to work.
At 09:00 a.m., I generally have a snack, and at 12:30, I usually have lunch at the hospital with
some of my colleagues. They are lovely people. They have a good sense of humour. They are
good friends, too. At 4 p.m. I have a snack again. I usually have some tea and cookies.
I go to yoga classes after work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. When I get home, I have
a shower. We prepare dinner with my sister, and I watch a movie with her. I like to go to bed
              early, around ten o’clock.

                                                  Technology and Our Health
Muestra editorial solo para fines didácticos – Prohibida su venta

I believe mobile phones and other technological devices harm our health because they reflect
radiation. Scientists think we should use mobile phones as little as possible. They think it is better
to be careful about using mobiles because they believe they harm our health. Mobile phones are
especially bad for children. The phone companies tell you that they are safe but sell a product,
so they can never tell you that product is not safe.
I think technology will be harmful to the next generation just like smoking was to previous
generations. Research shows that mobile phones can kill more people than smoking.
Wireless internet connection can cause headaches, nausea, tiredness and memory loss in people.
Technology can be particularly dangerous if you are exposed to it very frequently. We have
so much technology around us today. There is television for twenty-four hours. We also use
computers, online games, and so on for long hours in one day. All these are harmful to our
              health.

Electrical devices in the bedroom can also cause sleep problems. It is best to have no electronic
items in your bedroom. But if you can’t do without them, you should at least turn them off before
              you sleep.
You should keep your technology use to a limited time each day. You should keep your use of
mobile phones to a minimum because they can cause brain tumours if you use them for a long
time over the years. Always keep in mind that your health is more important than anything else.
You can be unable to return to good health once you lose it.

All students say that June is the best time of year because
school ends and the summer holiday begins. Some
students don’t spend summers having a holiday because
they are in school. The reason for this is that they go to
year-round schools. Students in year-round schools go to
school during the whole summer. They have short holidays
during the year. These short holidays are a few weeks
long. For example, students at year-round schools get a
few weeks off at Thanksgiving. Today, more schools are
                                                        becoming year-round places of learning.
Some students and parents believe that year-round
schools are better than schools with a long summer break.
Students in year-round schools have more holidays. They
have time to enjoy themselves away from school each
season. Year-round schools give families a chance to plan
holidays at different times, not only in summer. Frequent
breaks are better for students. They don’t have stress when
they go back to school after they have a short holiday.
They become more interested in learning. Short holidays
also give teachers time to plan better lessons. Teachers
in schools with a long summer break are always so busy.
They always teach, so they have less time to plan lessons
for their classes. Students in year-round schools remember
what they learn better. That is because their holidays aren’t
very long. If all schools have year-round education, the
education system can become more efficient. So, do you
want your school to be year-round or do you continue to

The Importance Of Sports On Children’s Health

Doing sports is good for children to develop both physically and mentally. Physical activity
should be part of the daily life of people from all age groups, and doing sports from an
early age helps children in many ways. For example, group activities improve the children’s
ability to socialize. It also improves the mental level of children. It promotes a healthy lifestyle
in adulthood. The habits people get as children are often permanent. Sports have a variety of
health benefits. The psychological benefits of sports activities are that they help children to have
more powerful personalities and allow them to understand the importance of having rules in
life. It is also important to choose the right sport for the right character. A shy child can become
more successful at a sport than children of the same age. For a more active child, an individual
sport can help better develop their concentration ability. Tennis is the best example of this kind
              of particular sport.
Physical exercise is also very important for young and older people because daily physical activity
prevents being overweight and having problems with their appearance. Sports can also have
the power to help us relax and feel more peaceful. The fathers and mothers of active children
should try to get them to run daily. Playing football or swimming to keep them physically active
are also good options. They will fall asleep in seconds, so mums and dads can feel more relaxed.

working in the field of animation. Walt used his talent as a cartoonist in this job.
The success of his early cartoons gave him the chance to set up his studio, but he couldn’t
have a successful business, and the company went out of business. Then, he decided to move
to Hollywood. Hollywood was home to the growing film industry in America. Walt Disney worked
for a few years, but he finally returned to work on his own.
His first work was to create the character Mickey Mouse. Walt gave a voice to the character.
The Mickey Mouse cartoons became very popular. They also had popular soundtracks. It was
Walt Disney’s skill to give his cartoons real-life characteristics. They got the audience’s attention
              because Walt used uplifting stories.
In 1932, he won his first Academy Award for Best Short Subject. He also won a special Academy
              Award for Mickey Mouse.

During the 1940s, Walt Disney began building plans for an enormous Theme Park. Walt Disney
wanted his Theme Park to be unique and wanted it to be a magical world for children. He also
wanted the park surrounded by a train because Disney has loved trains since childhood. After a
few years of planning and building, Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955. The theme park became
a huge success and encouraged Walt to consider another theme park in Orlando, Florida.
However, Walt Disney could not complete his new theme park plans. He developed lung cancer
and died on December 15, 1966, at age 65.

Ralph Hey Katy! Did you see my post yesterday?

Katy Unfortunately, no. I to do a lot of things. While I
on my yearly project, our neighbor us with her daughter. It was 7
o’clock and after that, I couldn’t even focus on the work.
Ralph Oh! Poor Katy! What with her?

Katy Well. We at home. I her to the park near
our house. While we there, we saw James on the way. He
us and we for an hour about the schoolwork.
Ralph Sounds nice. So, are you ready for Mr Rodin’s class?
Katy Not at all. What about you? I’m sure you your project last night.

Ralph Well, I all night. I TV at eight o’clock. Then I
                                                  writing my new post.
Katy Cool! What about the project then?

the phone call at eight, I changed my mind and logged in to my account.
                      Katy Who called you?

Ralph Luke. I was just watching a new series on Netflix when he me. He
called me to say that project due date was to next week.
Katy Really? Great! In the park, I was really worried about my project. I can finish it
next week. So while we were chatting in the park, you . What’s
                                your new post about?
Ralph It’s about the coolest inventions in history.
Katy Hmm. I’m curious now. I’ll definitely read it. I have to go now. Bye.

A few years ago, I used to work on cruise ships as a
musician. I travelled a lot! I used to get up early and
get on a ship to work! Then I used to spend between
two and three weeks on the ship. The ships were great.
The food was excellent. The staff were brilliant. The
ship stopped at fantastic places, so I usually used to
spend the afternoon at the beach drinking cocktails
or sightseeing. But the job had disadvantages too. I
didn’t have any privacy. I had to chat politely with all
the customers because they all knew me. It was a little
difficult because sometimes I was not in the mood of
                                                          talking to anyone.
But now, everything has changed because I haven’t
worked on a cruise ship for a long time. I never used
to spend much time at home, but I enjoyed it. I bought
a new bicycle last year, and I’ve found some great
beach cafes to sit and meet new people. I found some
beautiful places to discover around the city last year.
They were not full of tourists and more peaceful than
the places where the cruise ships travelled to.

I spend a lot more time alone these days. I really
enjoy it because I am free. I do everything I want.
I didn’t use to be alone much when I was working.
But since I stopped working, I have developed new
relationships with people I used to know but were not
my close friends. I used to think that the people in
my building and the neighborhood with ordinary jobs
were boring. But since last year, I’ve become friends
with some interesting, exciting, strong, kind and caring
people. That is very valuable for me!
